Image special: Bovet at INDP Watches

Once again, we have visited INDP Watches and this time we have familiarised ourselves with Bovet. An interesting brand with an interesting design language and a long history.

In our previous visits to INDP Watches, we have taken a closer look at brands such as Czapek and Armin Strom - do not miss these if you are interested in independent watchmaking.

Bovet Virtuoso X
INDP Watches
The company was founded to promote independent watchmaking in Sweden and the Nordic region. A newly built showroom on Karlavägen in Stockholm will soon offer everything from Czapek, Blaken, Arnold & Son, Bovet, Armin Strom, Angelus and Franck Muller watches to art from Richard Orlinski. Behind INDP Watches is a group of independent enthusiasts who want to increase interest in independent watchmaking. INDP Watches is an authorised dealer for all the brands they sell, but can also help with questions about other brands from the independent world. Many other manufacturers are added throughout the year, so stay tuned and follow them on Instagram.

A brief history of Bovet
Bovet was founded in 1822 by brothers Edouard, Gustave, Alphonse and Frederic. They ran the company together, with the eldest brother Edouard living and selling Bovet watches in China. By the mid-19th century, Bovet was so well established in China that their watches were used as currency. Customers included the Emperor of China. They were also one of the first manufacturers to use glass backs to display the beautiful decorations.
